I love having my students working in groups and collaborating. The use of whiteboards in my classroom will allow my classes to work in groups more effectively. I find that a whiteboard will help students participate that normally wouldn't speak out. The whiteboards also allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. What becomes a problem is the fact that the markers never seem to last, erasers seem to disappear, and the whiteboards slowly become stained from frequent use. A hearty supply of dry erase markers will make it easier to use them on a daily basis.
The wireless keyboard will allow me to circulate around the room and sit with groups while being able to scroll through assignments and Canvas with them. I like to sit with different groups during class, and I find myself constantly having to get up and walk to my desk to use my keyboard.
I am hoping these classroom supplies will enable my students to work in groups without needing or looking for missing supplies needed to complete the task for the day. I am also a second year teacher, and some of the other supplies on my list, like binder clips, magnets, etc., will allow me to decorate my room for a better learning atmosphere as well as enable me to do my job more efficiently.
