One of the main reasons for small group centers is to teach my students how to collaborate and work together. My kiddos have all missed out on the social opportunities in kinder and first where students learn to work with their peers. Having this easel will allow me to split my kiddos into three or even four groups to work with students in small groups.
It may seem easy for us, but my kiddos don't know how to work together and communicate with their peers. Teaching them to work and learn in groups allows both more individualized attention from me, but also gives them the confidence to speak up and take a more active roll in their learning.
