Every year I strive to have a classroom that is comfortable and welcoming, with supplies that helps student learning and a creates a positive environment. I have hour and a half long classes of students that are learning fast paced, advanced math. Chairs that are comfortable will help students to be engaged and ready to learn this fast paced curriculum. I have students use interactive notebooks and hands on projects to record their findings and have a resource for continuous learning. These materials will help students who can not afford to provide these materials for themselves due to low income. Furthermore, I have students with attention deficit problems, and rolling chairs will help them stay focused and engaged in class. These materials will help with algebra fraction standards where students can do hands on discovery of multiplying and dividing fractions. The Pandemic has left students wanting social interactions more than ever. Having a classroom and materials that allows me to plan lessons with higher social interactions and hands on learning will help students lessen the gap they have developed in math through the pandemic.
