As a guidance counselor, working with younger students, my biggest challenge is to address their emotional wellbeing and mental health. It has been a rough time for our kids trying to learn through the pandemic. Some of our young students have never been in a school setting as a result of the pandemic, and are just getting accustomed to a large school building. Some are even non-verbal. My students are anxious and have difficulty trying to adjust to the constant change in their routine.
Before they can succeed academically, we need to take care of their emotions. Games are a great tool to use with my youngest students. It makes it so much easier to engage in conversation and ease their worries. Thank you for supporting our students' emotional well-being and making them happy!
