Many of my students have interrupted formal education, which usually means they did not attend school in their home country. In these cases, organization needs to be explicitly modeled. This cart will allow them to organize their textbooks, workbooks, and classroom supplies. Since we share our room with five teachers, and over 120 students, it's important to make the layout flow well. ENL students benefit from organization. This cart will help them to keep their materials separate from the other classes and roll to other rooms when they breakout in small groups.
These organizational skills will help them throughout life! As they move on the high school, I hope they will be able to follow classroom routines and keep themselves organized, both in school and at home.
