Using my classroom budget, I was able to purchase a small oval rug for our classroom as well as number spots for the students to use at the front of the classroom. However, in order to fit everyone comfortably, we need a larger rectangular rug with big squares. With this rug, we could fit everyone around the outside without having to squish in, and each child could have their own square on the carpet as well. This would eliminate problems with students working on the rug too close to one another and in one another's space.
