My students spend more time in school than they do at home. Their commute to and from school can be taxing and they often times don't have enough time to eat breakfast or pack a lunch. Because of this, students come to school hungry, tired and unfocused all because they were not able to fuel their bodies.
My little humans turn to me when they are feeling hungry and groggy. Being able to supply nutritional snacks for them can help the students remain focused and motivated throughout the day. Being in a pandemic has caused the students to express a sense of hopelessness and lack of motivation. If I can help them stay focused and full by providing food when they need it, I feel it can make a great impact on their school days.
