These items will help students, parents, and families immediately when they enter my office, especially when they are in distress or crisis. Because I am seeing people in some of their moments of greatest emotional instability, it is imperative that I can develop a trusting relationship. Part of forming this initial connection is for the immediate environment to feel more comfortable. These items will help me achieve this goal by bringing color, encouragement, and a more welcome atmosphere to anybody who enters this space, including students, parents, and school staff members.
