My students and students in other classes will now be able to use the greenhouse through out the long winter months to propagate and grow plants. Ely has a very short growing season so the earlier we can get plants started, the higher the success rate of harvest will be. Many of my students do not know the difference between tubers, bulbs and seeds. Their knowledge has been limited to book learning during the Covid crisis and it is time to make their learning hands-on and relevant. We are planning events along with our plants. One activity we are planning is to have a pumpkin patch for the Head Start children.
