Music stands in band classrooms are essential to reading and performing music. Being able to tilt the stand at the correct angle and set the stand to the correct height is essential to playing music as it promotes proper playing posture which not only has a role in producing a solid instrumental tone but supports healthy growth in children. Proper stand height is also detrimental to successfully playing in any ensemble that reads music when a director is present because student musicians should be able to not only see their music, but the director should be able to be viewed using peripheral vision.
By donating, you will aid my goal of replacing all of our inoperable music stands with those that are in great condition, and conducive to supporting proper music instruction.
Students will be able to learn, rehearse, and perform music without having to tape stands, and unnecessarily adjust them while creating music!
