Sensory toys serve to productively distract and occupy a child's attention. In addition to boosting focus and productivity, by giving my students a bit of a fun mental break, it makes it easier for them to pay attention in class and focus. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice of having a sensory object. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed when they are less distracted and can remain focused.
These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out. They are lightweight and can be easily sanitized and used in many areas of the classroom, especially at rest/quiet time.
