This year, I taught a podcast Project-Based Learning Unit and noticed that, while they were excited and loved to research their topics, they did not have the proper sound equipment to effectively record their projects.
They actively tried to troubleshoot the problem but there was an inequality of resources due to some students having computers at home while others did not. Ðǿմ«Ã½ providing microphones for school computers would hopefully bridge the divide and allow all students to have the opportunity to create polished podcasts. Students informed me of this issue and how they resolved it in their post-assessment forms that I had each class complete.
During the year, we have used up a lot of markers to create posters for a variety of projects (including the podcast unit) such as comparing and contrasting 'A Dream Deferred by Langston Hughes to 'A Raisin in the Sun' by Lorraine Hansberry, 'Who Am I' posters where they describe themselves in a symbol and what they enjoy doing outside of school, and even the Door Decorating contest before Winter Break. Through Ðǿմ«Ã½, students will be able to use new markers to create more visuals and posters to enhance their learning.
I received the exact amount of copies of 'Raisin in the Sun' by Lorraine Hansberry as students, and while teaching this novel was amazing and important to the students' education, some copies were lost. To keep teaching this novel, I asked Ðǿմ«Ã½ to help keep an important novel in rotation.
Through the use of these supplies, our class will be able to troubleshoot this sound issue, create a more polished product, and provide them with the supplies they need to be successful the rest of the year.
