My students and I wear masks at school each day and have been doing this for a long time now. Masks make my voice hard for students to hear and require me to speak louder than I normally would, straining my voice. This leads to spending more time repeating directions and more off-task behavior with students. I recently tried this audio system in a peer's classroom and it was incredible. Students could actually hear me with my mask on. I could hear them. I had to spend less time repeating directions and was able to spend more time helping students. More importantly, when the students spoke, their voices were clear and audible when they used the microphone. It made a HUGE impact.
