With students learning at home last year, they have become more prone to behaviors that are more distracting such as fidgeting. My first graders are often times sitting on the carpet when they are learning. These fidget devices will allow for my students to fidget more in their hands instead of their bodies while learning on the carpet. All of these fidgets have been chosen in order to help encourage focus for my students when they are learning.
My students are noticeably more engaged and focused during whole group learning and less distracting to their peers when given the choice to have a fidget during their learning.
They will also have a choice of what fidget will help them focus the best during their learning. The best way to encourage focus and engagement during our whole group lessons is to reduce distractibility, and this project will help with those fidgeting distractions for my students.
