Our classes love reading novels! We use various novels in our classroom each year to teach the literacy and reading skills needed for fourth grade. This year we want to incorporate a biography into our reading curriculum. Using Who is Dr. Seuss, will allow us to explore the parts of biography and understand why authors choose to write about other people. The activities we do with the novel will lead into learning about and writing autobiographies about ourselves.
Teaching with novels helps to promote a love for reading within our classroom. We hope that this novel/project will encourage our students to read more biographies and autobiographies to learn about influential people from the present and past.
