More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education.
Materials such as magnetic letters, letter puzzles, small mirrors, and hands-on activities that focus on phonics and phonemic awareness will help my students gain the foundational skills they need to become fluent readers and writers. Students will use these materials during whole group and small group teacher instruction and in small independent groups.
These classroom materials will support my instruction on reading, writing, spelling, phonics and phonemic awareness. I want to begin using these materials to put into practice the instructional strategies I have learned though my professional development training in LETRS (the science of reading).
