As a first-year teacher, I still struggle to obtain much needed supplies for my students. I entered my classroom for the first time to see no supplies other than desks for my students. Other teachers have passed down their well-loved supplies which has been a great help, but they do not always get the job done. My students deserve to have supplies that are in good condition and a classroom that feels comforting when they walk in. A classroom rug would not only add an additional space for students to sit, but it would allow for our morning meetings be more personal.
