My class loves to learn something new and interesting every day. However, with COVID-19 affecting how we learn in school now, statistically, students are not showing growth in the places they should be. Learning from a distance is extremely hard for college students, so imagine how hard it is for younger students! In our class, I am not able to work in small groups or one-on-one due to social distancing restrictions. We are using many online resources to help catch the students up with what they missed during distanced or half in-person classes caused by COVID. I would like to provide headphones to the students that do not have the funds.
With everyone using headphones, I will be able to work with these students in small groups via online without bothering other students! Holding small groups will be very beneficial for students because I will be able to focus on specific needs of the students in that group rather than some students getting bored or lose focus during whole group instruction. The students that are not working with me in a small group, can continue to work on the skills they learned or they will be able to work on centers that I will provide them via online, thus providing the mandatory social distancing. Headphones will be much appreciated for everyone!
