Sitting for long periods of times is almost impossible for regular education students. Now, imagine what it would be like for someone who is diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, Autism, or Cerebral Palsy? My students are in need of sensory chairs to help maintain focus and motivation while they are in speech therapy. Many of these students can't stay focused for our thirty minute sessions due to the need for constant fidgeting and need to move. These items would help not only them, but myself and their regular education teacher. Allowing sensory chairs into my room will help keep my speech and language kiddos motivated and ready to tackle the world with their great speech and language skills. The sorting and sensory items will allow me to fully get their attention and motivation in the special education setting. My kids love hands-on activities and participating in crafts, as well as group games. Any support you give to my classroom, will directly benefit them in so many educational ways. I can't wait to allow sensory items in our room for fun learning!
