I want to let my students know that it is okay to be who they are. If they need certain things, that I can provide them in their learning environment. With my students being mildly cognitively impaired they learn in different ways and sometimes don't know how they learn. This leads them to being frustrated and seek sensory tools.
These materials will help my students with their sensory needs. They will be able to use these tools whether it be a certain seat or a schedule to know that they can control their needs when they need to.
The table top light board will give my students a chance to learn in a sensory way. The calming kit will help my students recognize their emotions and give them a break when they are frustrated. The chairs will give them other options then a hard chair that they can't move on. All these things will make their overall atmosphere more sensory friendly.
