Many students with Autism have difficulty not just controlling their emotions, but knowing how they feel! Sometimes their emotions become so big that they have difficulty regulating their behaviors. Autistic students don't learn about emotion and behavior regulation in the same way that their typically developing peers do. These skills sets must be taught.
The Autism Team in District 4 will use these games, books and other materials with autistic students in small groups or individually to teach these essential emotional and behavioral skills. These items have been carefully selected to target the way that autistic students learn best.
