These materials will make a huge difference for our classroom as we currently do not have any stools for our math small group table. Math is at the end of the day for our class and can be a difficult time for students to stay focused and motivated. Adding the wiggle stools, will provide students with an opportunity to improve their core, balance, and self-regulation. My students will have a decreased need to fidget which will result in improved focus and attention while I teach math.
The new addition of stools will not only help their brain focus better and pay more attention but research has proven that the stools can actually help them learn better! My students will now be looking forward to Math and Math Small Groups!
The whiteboards are needed for math as we use them throughout our lesson. We start with our CGI (Cognitive Guided Instruction) problem, where students are able to share their thinking on their whiteboards and then share aloud with the class. Next, they use the whiteboards during Fluency practice. Our current class set have a lot of wear and tear from previous groups. Many of them are so worn out that they are beginning to crack and break in half. Thank you for taking the time to check out my project!
