Students learning in the 21st Century need to know the difference between reputable and fake news. Sourcing information from a publication like the New York Times keeps them in-the-know for reading and learning from investigative journalists and reporting agencies that use best practices to gather and share critical information. With the New York Times subscription my students will hold in their hands a nationally recognized publication they can look through and do reading and writing assignments to expand their understanding of how to identify and understand real news in the real world.
