Academically my students need more letter and number knowledge. It is taking them longer to learn these skills that are pre-skills for being able to learn how to read and do math problems. With the math and reading manipulatives, I will be able to present the skills they need to learn in more fun and memorable ways.
Not only are my students behind academically but socially. The social skills stories, curriculum, and workbooks will help my students be able to identify their emotions, which in turn will help them be able to regulate their emotions throughout the school day.
Most of my students have a hard time paying attention, but with the use of fidgets, they will be able to focus on my lesson and not be so wiggly. The fidgets and trampoline will be able to help regulate emotions as well.
Lastly, my class loves earning prizes. The prizes will be used as incentives for following the classroom rules. All of these combined will help bridge the gap in many areas for my students.
