The variety of these requested materials will provide opportunity and enhance learning in all areas of STEM.
In our STEM centered classroom we focus on having a growth mindset. Although these students have gaps in their learning due to Covid-19, they know it is okay to try and fail, then try again. They come to school ready to learn and be challenged.
Science reading texts will help reinforce basic science core concepts while providing literacy practice.
Thankfully, the students have access to a variety of technology tools. Headphones will help students utilize those tools and be able to work efficiently without distractions.
Our classroom has limited engineering supplies. We are working on creating a makerspace area that will be enhanced by K'NEX building sets.
Hands-on math is much more effective. Fractions can be a hard concept for 4th graders to grasp. They will benefit from fraction math manipulatives.
In conclusion, all of the requested supplies will help strengthen student learning, build confidence, and bridge the gaps created by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
