The materials I get from this project will primarily be books. I need as many books as I can that cover a variety of current and engaging topics that directly affect teenagers (and more specifically, topics that resonate with them on a personal level).
We will hold group collegial discussions and conduct various research projects based on their novels of choice. Using their novels as a start, they will explore in-depth a central idea, theme, or contemporary issue that is pervasive throughout the text, and from there they will grapple with those issues by creating a project that connects it to their personal experiences, local communities, or national audience.
About my class
