Among the many impacts made by the current pandemic, a majority of my students are struggling to maintain attention during targeted reading instruction. This could likely be caused by a reduced amount of hands on learning due to COVID-19 protocol, an increase of screen time in the home, and possible social anxiety resulted from school closures and limited social gatherings, etc. As a result I would like to enliven my small group reading instruction by investing in wobble chairs. These chairs have been specifically designed to allow students a full range of motion while still sitting. As students sit on wobble chairs they will be able to maintain focus on the assigned task and still exert energy in a controlled environment. Help me provide my students with a resource that would benefit their literacy instruction from their head down to their toes.
