These method books will provide my students with the resources to continue developing their musicality and technique on their instruments. These books will provide students with a natural stepping stone from their first year of experience on instruments to their middle school years. Each book will provide students with a plethora of exercises that will help them develop rhythm, tone quality, intonation, and musical expression.
With these method books, my students will be able to expand their individual musical literacy and fully engage in ensemble musical creation and performance.
COVID-19 and the associated distance learning requirements essentially took away a year of instrument playing. As the students have returned to school, it has become evident that many are at a beginning level or are brand new to their instrument. These method books will bolster students as they move from their first year of instruction into their second and third years. The increase in beginning level students has increased the need in the near future for more middle school level texts.
