I am so proud of my students for their resilience in the face of COVID-19 and all the obstacles that have come with it. I believe these resources I am requesting will help support my students to overcome those obstacles. In my classroom, we work together to create an environment where students feel valued, safe, and successful. These resources will hugely bolster those efforts.
My students have a variety of abilities and needs, and they need a learning environment that reflects that. Flexible seating and healthy snacks will help my teens feel comfortable and have the energy they need to learn. New books and phonics tools will empower them to see themselves in literature and discover the power that comes with literacy. Fidgets and sensory tools will reduce anxiety and introduce healthy coping strategies. These resources will make our classroom a better learning environment for all my students.
