Your donation will go towards the purchase of materials and samples students will use in multiple different lab activities. They will design and carry out experiments that allow them to gain an understanding of the interior structure of the Earth, heat/energy transfer processes, tectonic movements, and patterns that result on Earth's crust.
These materials will provide my students with a hands-on approach in learning about the interior structure of our Earth as well as how energy transfer processes inside the Earth affect and shape its exterior.
Students will model and simulate tectonic plate movements via hot spot modeling. This will allow students to calculate and visualize tectonic plate movement occurring on a global scale. Students will also use samples to calculate density, build models, and construct an understanding of Earth's internal structure.
