Many of my students do not have books at home. Having books in a classroom library is a must. My students love getting to choose a book of their choice, that they will enjoy reading. Every book has been chosen with them in mind. Getting new books will give them more choices. This is something that can be used for years to come. Getting books that students will enjoy reading during small group time and independent reading will help instill a love of reading. Students get hungry while at school and being able to give them a healthy snack will help them be able to concentrate and learn the concepts to the best of their ability. Having some math manipulatives and games will help students who are struggling and need a little bit of extra time on the concept.
