These classroom books will add more engaging and diverse options for my students to read. I want all of my students to have at least one book option that contains a subject, a common protagonist, a genre, etc. that they love and connect with. I push my students to explore and grow as a reader by knowing what they like and don't like through tasting different types of books. However, that is only possible through options; kids naturally have a greater love for something when they have a choice. Every student deserves to have a book they can relate to and love. I have taken suggestions of books my students want to see more of/try to read; therefore, I chose these books with their interests, personalities, struggles, etc. in mind. The most effective way to have a love of reading is to read more with texts that interest and connect with you. Through this project, and with these options, they will have that opportunity and have a greater variety and potential to see themselves more represented in the novels provided.
