We are a stem school. STEM has taken a back burner to LA and Math over the last few years because of the missed school and struggling readers. We want to add STEM back into the school day because STEM improves reading and math scores. This project will give students the opportunity to think critically, improve communication, collaborate with other students, and be creative. The class set of micro bits will give students the opportunity to code, program, and create projects. Students can be creative including art, science, and math into STEM projects. Students can create a simple rock, paper, scissors game with micro bits. They can create an animal tracker, they can create lights that clap on and off and much more. Students can include art in their projects as well as math, and language arts.
