Math is a foundation subject that students will use for the rest of their lives. Over the past 2 years, students have been subjected to a variety of challenging learning environments which has significantly impacted their experiences and understanding of core subjects like math, reading, and writing. This year, I am trying to help my students see how creative and fun math can be. I have noticed that while students are working on mastering complex concepts in math, they are struggling with memorizing basic math facts. In order to get farther, students need to be able to efficiently solve basic math facts so we can apply them into more complicated real life word problems. Through the use of these math games and materials students are motivated to practice their math facts using all the math operations. There is a special emphasis on mastering multiplication and division math facts, so we created Magical Math. Students will pass off their multiplication and division math facts and see that their hard work pays off with more difficult math problems. As they master more math facts, they will build their math confidence. To provide students with extra motivation, there will also be a special reward that they can actually hold to show their progress in mastering math facts. Students will receive a magic wand for mastering their multiplication facts. By mastering their multiplication facts, division facts will be much easier. Once they pass off division facts, they will get a golden snitch fidget spinner. Through these donations, you will be helping to build up the math confidence of so many young learners!
