My students love outdoor projects. We are going to meet up on multiple nights to look at the stars and do a report on the star of their choice. We will use the telescope to take pictures of their star and use it as the centerpiece for their project. We will also use the telescope to look at different planets within the solar system. It will help bring that unit to life. By being outside and working on real-world assignments it will help the students feel better and learn at the same time.
I will use the expo markers to have the students draw and write down things on their white boards as we study and learn about the solar system. The more senses involved when learning the better my students will remember new info.
Lastly, I will use the all the books as rewards for reading. Many of my students don't have many books at home. One time I had a bunch of donated books and I used them as rewards and it worked really well. I would like to continue that same reward.
