Students will be reading Frankenstein in my English class while they are taking anatomy and science research classes. We teachers work together to make connections between our subject matter. Students will be able to have a co-curricular experience diving into the ethics of genetic engineering and medical anatomy, while learning the science involved. Currently, I only have a classroom set of Frankenstein books, I would like to have enough copies for both of my 10th grade classes to take the book home with them during this unit. I also have one classroom set of colored pencils and scissors. I would like to have enough colored pencils for every student to have at home and to avoid passing germs among all classes. We use colored pencils for peer reviews in both 9th and 10th grades. I do not currently have enough scissors for students to use in class. Due to the time lost, anywhere I can save class time is helpful. Having enough scissors for each student in class makes a big difference in how quickly we can accomplish simple tasks and projects.
