At our school, we believe every student should have the opportunity to reconnect with and be nurtured by the land. Our edible gardens provide an opportunity for all of our students to work in the sun, getting their hands in the soil and producing food that they can actually eat.
Students who have worked in our edible gardens attest to stronger community ties with their peers, alleviation of depression, and a better understanding of food systems. This project includes supplies for raised garden beds and for a composter. It also includes general tools we’re missing in our garden shed.
This project will not only take our horticulture and botany programs to the next level but will also help provide our students with nutritious food that comes from their own efforts.
