The past couple years have been particularly challenging for our students. The library was closed for most of 2020 due to COVID-19. The library reopened in 2021 with restrictions, but soon after, the school librarian passed away from a brain tumor. As a result, the library was closed for the remainder of the school year. Our focus this year has been to create a safe and inviting library for students, a place where students will discover books, makerspace activities, and friends. So far, our attempts have been successful, and the library is at full-capacity during lunch periods and before/after school. The few 3D pens we purchased have been extremely popular, but students have to wait to use them. A couple additional pens and some comfortable seating would be well-used and appreciated in our library by so many students on a daily basis.
