I am looking to provide my students with a variety of ways to learn through positive interactions. The games in my project will be used to help student learn to engage in positive peer interaction while having to work through a variety emotions as they play together. My students have a hard time with small talk and getting to know one another on a personal level. By offering them the opportunity to play games in a non-threatening situation I believe they can develop a deeper connection to each other. This deeper connection will help my students with aspects of bullying and exclusions during times they are not in class. The books in my project will be used as a jumping off point to talk about cultures around the world and difference in the way people live their lives. Through reading these books students will be able to open new channels for communication.
