Covid has interrupted the early learning of many of my students, and essential reading building blocks were not taught in classrooms and in many homes. If I am funded for my project, my classroom of low beginning readers will have multiple emergent reading libraries, which will allow them to read books on their current level, and kick-start them in gaining reading skills that will prepare them for first grade. The word work centers and letter magnets and manipulatives, will help my students hear the sounds in words, and get them spelling so they can become great writers as well!
