My classroom is a Life Skills Classroom that serves students with special needs kindergarten to second grade. I started a new classroom from scratch for the school year of 2021-2022 with very little and needed to create everything my students need to meet each of their unique learning needs. Despite their learning challenges, they are ready to learn! My students learn differently than their typically-developing peers, but they aren't any less capable of learning the valuable skills they need in order to be successful. They deserve to have learning tools that will challenge them and help them grow.
We work on so much more than their shapes, colors, ABCs and 123s. We work on functional independent living skills they will need throughout their lives. The classroom tools needed look different than a general education classroom & I am working to develop these tools for my students now and all those to come in the future.
