We've worked hard to build and maintain a class family. Every day we check in with each other, talk about how to support each other, and celebrate what we've learned and who we are. The items in this project will help keep the joy in our days together.
My students are some great people. They have blown me away on more than one occasion with how compassionate and generous they are in their own ways. They have been asked to learn in non-traditional settings but just as any class before them. This class should be celebrated for all they have learned and all they are. We will use the art materials to make displays that reflect the humans in our class. The books will be used as windows to the world we can't quite explore. The other tools, like the Magnatiles and board games, will be used to play like six- and seven-year olds while learning social-emotional skills like cooperation and communication.
