As a Spanish teacher, I have verified that where the students use the language the most is in the moments of play. That is why I think these moments in the classroom are very necessary.
Thanks to the help of volunteers who come to class, students will be able to play these games with the help of an adult who will guide them throughout the game.
For example, when they are playing those games they feel more confident and comfortable to express theirselves in Spanish. I have noticed that several times, when they are playing with they speak more in Spanish. For this I would appreciate to have this kind of games in my room
On the other hand, the games that I have chosen can be found in stores and are known in both Spanish and English. This will help them to transfer their knowledge to homes and to play with families. Likewise, this will generate board game spaces at home and family moments that are so important at these early ages.
Finally, I have also chosen manipulative games where students can develop their motor skills, which will help them in the future to strengthen postures (such as the clamp to pick up the pencil and start writing). With the current times, students use digital devices more, and this is hindering moments as important as the one I have just described.
For all these reasons, I hope to be able to receive the donation and be able to help my students both at a language level and at a physical level.
