My students all have significant cognitive disabilities. Hands on materials and one on one instruction are the best way for my students to learn. Science is particularly a challenge to teach because the concepts are sometimes abstract and not ideas that are easily seen without experimentation, demonstration or actual interactions. I have selected materials that will allow my students to be more engaged and interactive with science based materials.
Students with special needs, need special materials to learn best. Hands on materials are the best for all students to learn but especially for students with special needs.
