Students will replicate electoral college maps from prior presidential elections using the colored pencils and paper. This gives students an opportunity to better understand this system and the strategies a President uses to win these elections. Students enjoy this experience because they get to collaborate and have fun around a topic that can sometimes be kind of controversial! To bring it to life, we will host elections in each class. The students will pick their favorite three posters in three different elections, one that is ranked choice, electoral college and then popular votes. The students will see how different styles can generate different election results. Winning students will earn school rewards points to be used at school store.
