These materials will both help the students with social-emotional and academic learning in light of COVID-19. With a well-organized book area, I can have many book titles that show kids persevering and other relatable experiences. The bookshelves will help me keep my books spread out so that when kids are searching for a book they can read. With more seating for reading and more book choices, students can gain confidence in reading and choices.
Students will use the STEM items for team building. Students are lacking confidence after the COVID break and I will use the STEM items for building teams and confidence while students work together to solve problems that I present to them. This also connects with the matter curriculum in the SEEd standards that Utah has adopted.
