Our reading curriculum is based on routines from the LETRS training mandated by the state. It emphasizes phonics and phonemic awareness. These are the reading skills needed by children to become good readers. The foundation of these skills begin in kindergarten.
The white boards will be used for the letter practice, dictation, and word blending as part of out daily routines. The ten frames while helpful for math are used as part of our sight word instruction. The sound tubs will give me real world items to practice beginning and ending sounds with without having to spend time collecting them.
