I am so looking forward to offering a textile craft for my students! I aim to have this loom set up in my classroom all the time, with students able to collaborate to create something beautiful! Students may work on it as early finishers, or earn weaving time if that's an incentive that works for them.
Upon completion, the woven artwork could be hung in the school to proudly display their work, or even auctioned off to benefit the art department further. I think it's important that students realize that art isn't always on paper and with "conventional" materials...What recycled or found materials could students use to weave with? The ideas are endless!
