I plan to use interactive books to enhance and engage my students with severe disabilities. With the themed book set, I will have a different theme every month. We will read the books, watch videos, and do hands on activities to correlate with that theme. This will help my students gain a deeper understanding of the specific them.
With the large interactive books, I will use these to help my students with low motor and language skills be able to access and interact with the books and story. This will help my students better understand elements of a story, and concepts of print.
The more opportunities I can provide my students with hands-on interactive lessons, the better they are able to be engaged with their learning and remember what they are learning.
