It is a powerful tool to have students' reading with each other. It is also powerful to read actual books. The kids get so excited when they get to read real books rather than passages in reading groups. Holding a book and reading together as a team or with partners really increases students desire to read well. Because I have changed from upper level grade to 2nd, I have no reading group sets. It would be totally awesome to have books in our classroom that are on level to read with each other.
